About
Veronneau is Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau and UK guitarist Ken Avis. We perform acoustic-world-jazz, incorporating French chanson and bossa nova, along with swing classics and more. The band has won 7 WAMMIE Awards for best vocals, band and recording, and we have had 3 albums go Top 10 in the US Jazz and World Music charts.
We tour internationally, and regularly play festivals and top venues like the Kennedy Center and Blues Alley, We love to play intimate house concerts, typically as a duo or trio with violinist Dave Kline. There's nothing like sharing music with friends in an intimate listening environment.
Music
Lynn sings in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. Our music is eclectic and vocal driven, a mixture of original compositions, classics of the jazz and world music genres, mixed with pop and folk music interpretations. Our first album Joie de Vivre reflected this with songs like La Mer, alongside classics by Jobim and the Beatles, all sensitively interpreted with beautiful vocals.
We also have a special show "Blue Tapestry" which celebrates the music, in stories and songs, of Joni Mitchell and Carole King's iconic albums. This is one we reserve for listening rooms only as it engages so much with audiences.
As one reviewer said; " Veronneau could easily fit on jazz, world and pop radio... a kaleidoscope of internationally flavored tunes and varied textures delivered by a gorgeous voice." All About Jazz
