Classical Guitar

About

Brazilian guitarist Nícolas Porto Silva began performing professionally as a child prodigy, appearing on national television and in concert halls across Brazil. After winning several of the country’s leading guitar competitions and making his orchestral debut on a national broadcast, he relocated to New York to pursue advanced studies and new artistic collaborations. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall in 2025, and his current work continues to develop the early foundations of his musical journey through innovative projects and research on contemporary and Latin American repertoire.

Music

Most of the music I play comes from a combination of canonic and contemporary classical traditions. I’m deeply connected to the Latin American repertoire, from Villa-Lobos and Agustin Barrios to contemporary composers who explore new sonorities and rhythmic identities. Alongside that, my most recent project, When Everything Sings, focuses on researching and creating original arrangements of songs and instrumental works inspired by composers from the popular traditions of Northeastern Brazil.
