About
Originally from Italy, I moved to New York City 10 years ago. I was inspired by the enormous variety of musical offerings and decided to earn an American music degree in Piano performance. I have taken classes in composition as well, and wrote a piece for my own Graduation Piano recital last year. Other than teaching and transmitting my passion for music to young students, I collaborate with many musicians playing classical or New Music. I can't wait to share my love for music with all of you Groupmusers!
Music
My first love was Chopin. Then it shifted to the late romantic Russians; now I still love classical music but I discovered how challenging and rewarding it is to perform New Music from living composers. I have prepared two separate only American/only Italian composers programs that highlight my dual identity as an Italian and American. I am also working at a Philip Glass/Ludovico Einaudi program based on minimalist music (the duality of Italy and the US is still represented here) and a tribute to Black Spirituals from the US and traditional Zulu chants from South Africa, the country I was born in.
