Please note the change in program Join us for an immersive experience of flute music interwoven with dance & stillness. Sujatha is a flutist who will be playing music of JS Bach, Debussy, & improvisations based on Hindustani ragas. Miraaj is a flow movement artist who will be interweaving stillness & dance into the music. This event brings together music lovers and art enthusiasts with the backdrop of the 2727 Artist Co-op's latest exhibition, "Water". Light refreshments available. $25 suggested donation.
Please join us after the music for some refreshments and enjoy the 2727 Artist Co-op's latest exhibition. "Water" celebrates the mutable nature of water as an idea and a medium. Water is changeable as the seasons and as our emotions, providing a symbol for transformation and change, nourishment, emotion, and the divine. Still waters run deep, yet in creative work, “being in the flow” is a moment of connection and transcendent making, evoking the sense of nature allowed to move abundantly unimpeded.
What's the music?
~ Syrinx for solo flute by Claude Debussy
~ Flute Sonata in E Minor by J.S. Bach
~ Aria "Benedictus" from the Mass in B Minor by JS Bach arranged by Sujatha for solo flute
~ Improvisations on flute based on Hindustani ragas Bhairavi & Yaman
