About

The Riverside Brass Quintet (RBQ) formed in 2023 with the mission of presenting community-centric concert experiences through interdisciplinary collaboration and promotion of New York City-based artists. RBQ blends contemporary classical, folk, and pop music to present concert experiences accessible to audiences of all kinds.

RBQ seeks to expand and diversify brass quintet repertoire through recordings, commissions, and performances. RBQ created the premiere recording of Chloe Rowlands’ "Chrysalis" with funding provided by Chamber Music America’s Ensemble Forward grant. RBQ co-commissioned Aliyah Danielle’s "In Spite Of…" RBQ performed the new work, as well as Sara Jacovino’s "A Garden Story" at the 2025 International Women’s Brass Conference.

RBQ recorded and released their debut EP "Impromptu" in 2024.
