Drew and Dan started Poore Astronomers in 2023 and have offered recitals of music from around the turn of the 17th Century; songs on romantic love as well as sacred music. In 2023, we presented Love's Pleadings, a program of hits of John Dowland, Philip Rosseter, Thomas Morley, and Thomas Ford. In 2024, we presented Amor Mundi, selections from Dowland's Third Booke of Songs concerning love from its most human to its most astronomical or transcendent as well as Devocion: Sacred English Lute Songs of John Dowland and Thomas Campion. To follow, in 2025 we performed Thomas Morley's First Booke of Ayres (1600) in its entirety at a multitude of venues.

For 2026, we look forward to focusing our programs on John Dowland (1563-1626) in celebration of his life and music as it will be the 400th anniversary of his death.
