About

With a Bachelors in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University, and a Masters in Vocal Performance from University of Southampton in the UK, Lauren Carter is an award-winning petite soprano with a big voice. Past credits include soloist in ‘Paix a Peyresq,’ a new French Opera at the Lighthouse Theatre in Poole, England; Buffy in the world premiere of ‘A Wedding,’ directed by the late Oscar-winning director, Robert Altman at Lyric Opera of Chicago; and ensemble of ‘La Boheme’ with Co-Opera Co in London. She has performed recitals in venues around the world including Los Angeles, London, Graz, Austria, Southampton, England and Chicago. Lauren completed her Bachelor of Music (Classical Vocal Performance) at Northwestern University, where she studied with Carmen Mehta, of the renowned Mehta classical music family. She then received her Master of Music at the University of Southampton in Southampton, England where she studied with the head of the vocal department, Keith Davis. Lauren's diverse repertoire includes Mozart, Handel, Bellini, Schubert, Debussy, Puccini, and into 20th century music with Kurt Weill, William Bolcolm cabaret style repertoire to jazz standards from the Great American Song Book.
