About

James Keene is a versatile soloist, chamber musician, and music pedagogue. Starting in high school, he has played solo, chamber, and orchestral performances for audiences throughout China, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and the USA. James has appeared regularly with New Haven Symphony (CT), the Philly Pops (PA), the Mann Center Orchestra (PA), the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra (NJ), and the San Louis Obispo Symphony (CA). He attended Interlochen Arts Academy, Rutgers University, and the San Francisco Conservatory. He won 1st place at the Russel Johnson Strings Competition in Philadelphia, PA and has shared the Carnegie Hall stage with Dionne Warwick. He has also engaged in live and recorded collaborations with Jay-Z, Vanessa Williams and Andrea Bocelli.

Music

A versatile, classically trained violinist, James can play solo, orchestral, and chamber music of all kinds. In addition to classical music, James has experience playing film scores, popular music of all kinds, jazz/leadsheets, salsa, and Jewish music as well.
