About

“Her solo music is melodic and oddly timeless, and indeed placeless, somehow evoking both Bach and Dave Holland” (BBC Music Magazine).
Tamar Sagiv is a NYC-based cellist and composer creating intimate, narrative-driven performances that blend classical music with improvisation and original work. Her debut album Shades of Mourning (Sono Luminus) was selected as NPR’s Best Album of the Week and featured in Gramophone and The Strad. The album reflects a deeply personal exploration of grief and memory.

Music

Tamar performs a mix of music by J.S. Bach, Brahms, contemporary composers, and Tamar’s own original works. Tamar’s programs are shaped as intimate, narrative-driven experiences, blending classical tradition with improvisation and personal storytelling.
