About

Emmanuel and Frances Borowsky are a brother-sister duo that has performed in over thirty countries. Born and raised in Baltimore, they made their Carnegie Hall debut in 2004, and most recently toured Lithuania, Cuba, and France. Both studied at conservatories in the USA and abroad, and earned their doctoral degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Music

We like to balance programs between duos that were written for these instruments (e.g. by Bohuslav Martinu, Edward McGuire, and Zoltan Kodaly) with arrangements of works (think two-part inventions by J.S. Bach!) and pieces for solo violin or solo cello.
