Beethoven - Piano Sonata Op. 111

Beethoven’s late style contains sonic and formal inventions that pave the way for centuries of music. Using Beethoven’s late piano works as a point of departure into modernity, perhaps we can appreciate the timelessness of this music in a new way.

I’ll begin with a collage of short works from Beethoven’s Op. 126 Bagatelles, Berio’s Encores, alongside one of my favorite Chopin Nocturnes, followed by my own piano sonata and concluding with Beethoven’s final piano sonata Op 111.
