Throughout my life as a pianist, one of the questions I’m most often asked—by friends, family, or audience members—is, “How did you become a pianist?”

As I go through a transitional phase in my life, both as an artist and as a person, I’ve found myself reflecting deeply on that question—on how everything unfolded the way it did. One factor stands out above all: the people in my life. From my parents, teachers, and mentors to my friends, students, and audiences, every relationship has shaped the person and musician I’ve become.

This program is a reflection of those connections. It not only traces different chapters of my journey but, more importantly, celebrates the meaningful and life-changing relationships that have guided me along the way. I’ll be sharing stories from my childhood, my early years after leaving home to pursue the dream of becoming a pianist, and the ongoing journey filled with both laughter and tears.

The program includes Schubert’s Impromptu Op. 142 No. 3, Liszt’s La Campanella, Scriabin’s Sonata No. 2, Brahms’ Op. 118 No. 2, Debussy’s Clair de Lune, Chi-Liang Hung’s Memories, and Balakirev’s Islamey—each piece representing a moment, a person, or a relationship that has left an indelible mark on my life.
