Full program notes

As part of a recording project under the Catalyst Grant, we are excited to present works of several American composers, all of whom left significant but underappreciated influences in the United States and some right here in Boston! We will present a violin sonata by Kathleen Rogers, who left her opera career to compose and teach, notably at the New England Conservatory of Music. She also held weekly "Groupmuses" herself! We will also present a Suite for Violin and Piano by Haratio William Parker, a Boston native from Auburndale and organist at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Dedham. More pieces will follow, including works of Rubin Goldmark and Rossetter G. Cole.

We have been very excited to bring these works to stage, and are also in the process of recording an album featuring and in tribute to these composers. Join us for an event of exploration, and we'd love to hear your first-time reactions to the music!
