The New York Piano Society is back for the season - to celebrate the finest otherwise-occupied pianists in this Great City. It’s a program of the earlier masterworks by the great composers, and they want us to join them in Merkin Hall for a Night Out!
The centerpiece of the program is Beethoven’s 1st Piano Concerto — an early work but possessed of all the heroic transcendence he would completely manifest later in his legendary arc. It’s accompanied by early gems of Brahms, Debussy, Schumann, Scriabin, Szymanowski, and Alexander Borodin, with his absolutely lovely and underplayed Piano Trio - his first work.
Tickets to this feast on the ivories average $40, but it’s Groupmuse after all, so you’ll get yours for a mere $20! But supplies are limited, so jump on it if you want in!
