France and Russia have long had a special relationship. Often allies in warfare, a strange and beautiful cultural bond has also intertwined the fates of these nations and peoples — French was the language of the Russian Aristocracy for much of the 18th Century, and some time later, France became the adopted home of Stravinsky - arguably History’s most influential Russian composer.
And in more recent events, we've received word that DC’s own Russian Chamber Art Society is hosting its next concert at The French Embassy — and best of all, they want us to join for a Groupmuse Night Out!
It’s a celebration of the incredibly rich and lush tradition of Russian Art Songs — by the great luminaries of the Russian Romantic: Alexander Borodin, Modest Mussorgsky, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov and more, brought to us by the word class voices of Zhanna Alkhazova, Anastasiia Sidorova, and Grigory Soloviov — with Vera Danchenko-Stern on the piano.
An evening of such splendid sounds and in such a magnificent place typically runs $55 — but we’ve got a stack of tickets for more than half off, at $25!
What’s more — wine and light fare are included! But we have to close sales on Thursday, which means you’ve only got a couple of days to hop on this sweet deal!
Have a grand Night Out at the Embassy!
