What's the music?
We are so excited to be playing one of our favorite pieces, Dvorak's Piano Trio No. 3 in F minor, Op. 65. It's a great example of Dvorak's emerging style at the time (another example being his 7th Symphony) which was darker and more dramatic compared to his previous works which were Slavonic, folk-oriented and generally carefree. The work is complex and masterful, full of intense contrasts - arguably his finest chamber work.
We will also be playing Frank Bridge Miniatures for Piano Trio.
