Every year, the holidays are brought to a new plane of experience by the mysterious, undeniable power of music. Whether it’s the incessant jangle of Christmas radio that seems to haunt our every step, or the soft intimacy of carolers laying down a Silent Night on a street corner in Cambridge, music allows us to truly feel the holidays.
Then, of course, there is the 800 pound gorilla in the room: Handel’s Messiah. An ocean of devotion and joy and reverence. All of the light and love of the holidays packed into two hours of bliss and beauty that have been reverberating through the ages for 250 years.
And, thanks to our wonderful new friends at Boston Baroque, this very weekend, we’ve got a chance to join for that miracle of sound with a Groupmuse Night Out!
Boston Baroque is the oldest continually performing historically-informed orchestra in North America, and they gave Boston’s first-ever historically-informed performance of Handel’s Messiah almost 30 years ago. In other words: They know what they’re doing. You do not want to miss this one.
The gathering is in the world-renowned Jordan Hall, and while tickets typically average $50, Boston Baroque is seriously good people — so we’ve scored a limited stack for $20! But like all limited stacks, it’s limited, so make your move!
We’re so grateful to be able to share this with you, Boston!
