For their last two of San Francisco appearances, The New Century Chamber Orchestra has invited us along for a couple of sold-out Nights Out. We don't expect their next one to be any sort of exception.
In case you hadn't heard, the NCCO is a conductor-less, collaboratively-run chamber orchestra that has, over the last 25 years, become one of the most dynamic and exciting chamber orchestras in the country. And you'll see why:
Their program starts with two new works: First, piece by composer Sally Beamis -- Seavaigers, for violin, accordion and strings. It'll be followed by Peteris Vasks' Distant Light - a concerto for violin and string orchestra.
The second half of the concert will Antonín Dvořák's enchanting and beloved Serenade for Strings in E major. A dialogue of old and new. Music making at the absolute highest level. A Night Out to remember. And it's all going down at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Concert Hall.
Typically, these tickets run, on average, $45, but our wonderful friends at NCCO have given us a stack for only $15 -- almost 70% off! That said, supplies are limited, so grab yours!
What's the music?
