It’s official — the summer is winding down and the arts season is coming into full swing (…it’d be nice if the nightmarish swelter got the memo, but alas…) — we’ve got a mega-Massivemuse on the books at the end of the month and our Nights Out offerings are once again proliferating. Yes, indeed: we’re back in action, and to celebrate just how back in action we are, we’ve got a splendid Night Out with the brilliant and dynamic New York Baroque Incorporated, ready with an evening of Bach in action. Or rather, Bachs in action.
Indeed, the evening is an ode to arguably the most musically talented family in human history - starting with orchestral works by CPE Bach and JC Bach and finishing with a Cantata by their father, that high priest of sound Johann Sebastian.
It’s going down at the architectural masterpiece, and, predating this country by a decade, the oldest church building in Manhattan, St. Paul’s Chapel, right in the heart of the Downtown. Tickets are typically $35, but because it’s Groupmuse after all, we’ve got a stack for $15 — more than half off! But supplies are limited, so if you want to join, we hope you do!
And have a great Night Out!
What's the music?

Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach - Orchestra-Symphony No. 1 in D, Wq. 183/1
Johann Christian Bach - Sinfonia concertante for two violins and cello in E-flat, W C42
Johann Sebastian Bach - Schleicht, spielende Wellen, BWV 206
