Pianist-composer Sam Post, who has performed with Yo-Yo Ma and Renee Fleming at the Kennedy Center, will play a program pairing highlights from his new ragtime recording with Preludes and Fugues by Bach.
Sam is no stranger to Bach: he performed the entire Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1 as a high-schooler and has also recorded the Goldberg Variations (see this review from the Washington Post):

Not surprisingly his own compositions are heavily influenced by Bach's, and he'll be telling us how his pieces, even in a genre as far-flung as ragtime, bear the indelible mark of the master.
