For those who don't yet know about (le) poisson rouge, we couldn't be more excited to make the formal introduction.

LPR, as its known by its friends, is the original gangster of the classical music revolution that Groupmuse considers itself such an active player in. For ten years, at their hallowed and blisteringly cool night club spot in Greenwich Village, they've brought the best classical musicians the world over to share the greatest masterworks ever written in the sort of culturally and acoustically resonant atmosphere that'll make groupmusers feel right at home.

Groupmuse coming to LPR is very much so an Obi Wan Kenobi meets Luke Skywalker kind of thing.

This Monday night, the internationally acclaimed Trio Con Brio Copenhagen, will be ripping into Beethoven's Ghost Piano Trio and Shostakovich's E Minor Piano Trio - both works haunting, devastating and monumental in their own, very different ways.

At the door, these tickets are $20 and $25 (depending on whether or not you choose standing room or a cabaret table*), but we here at Groupmuse are getting a whole stack for $10(!), just 'cause LPR are our kind of people.

*Note: spots at a cabaret table are more limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Also, they come with a required two drink minimum, but the bar at LPR is absolutely epic. It's the size of an olympic swimming pool.
