We’re extremely lucky to have soprano Anna Aistova and pianist Daria Vasileva (find them on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DeNEYi8Omvf/ ) coming up from New York to perform a special Halloween program of haunted songs and dances in our backyard in Waltham. They’ll take us through a journey filled with witches' incantations, drowned lovers, mad scenes, and demons who dance until dawn.
How did this gem fall into our laps?! I honestly don’t know! But this is a Groupmuse you won’t want to miss!!!
The program will feature Russian rusalkas luring travelers into the water, Lucia's ghost at the fountain, the Pied Piper, the Tatar forest demon Shurale and his Fire Witch, Mussorgsky's Death serenading a dying girl, and Ophelia's mad songs. Then comes a detour to Edward Scissorhands, and an encore you'll recognize from The Fifth Element.
The concert is outdoors (unless it rains). We'll have a couple outdoor heaters, blankets and hot drinks, but please do dress warmly. Costumes are very welcome.
Doors open at 6:00, and the music starts at 6:30.
