San Francisco Performances presents tenor Nicholas Phan and Grammy® Award-nominated pianist Myra Huang in Fellow Citizens, an intimate program exploring America’s complicated and deeply human migration stories through song. Beginning with Irving Berlin’s God Bless America, the program moves through works by Schubert, Ruth Crawford Seeger, and others, including a new work by Shawn Okpebholo. With Huang’s acclaimed coloristic playing alongside Phan’s celebrated voice, this is a thoughtful, beautifully crafted evening of music that asks big questions without losing sight of the individual stories behind them.
