Welcome! I’m so excited to host pianist Margarita Rovenskaya for an evening of music in my home.
Margarita is an acclaimed pianist and passionate champion of Czech and Ukrainian music. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Merkin Hall, and venues across the US and abroad, and is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions. Her love of Czech music has been a particular thread throughout her career: in 2021, she performed Dvořák’s complete Poetic Tone Pictures at the Czech Center New York, and she regularly brings lesser-heard Czech repertoire to audiences around the country. Born in Ukraine, Margarita is also co-founder of the Ukrainian Music Initiative and a regular performer at the Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival.
Margarita holds a doctorate from Rutgers University and is currently on the piano faculty at Mannes School of Music. I’m delighted to welcome her—and all of you—for the chance to experience this music up close in the intimate setting of a house concert.
A small house note: this is a shoes-free home, so please plan to leave your shoes at the door (fun socks encouraged!).
Looking forward to sharing a beautiful evening of music together!
