Gotham Arts in collaboration with Groupmuse is excited to present an intimate duo recital by violinist Muriel Oberhofer and pianist Maxi Khevenhüller featuring works by Beethoven Grieg, Ravel, and Tailleferre.

About Muriel Oberhofer

Praised for her profound musicality and her naturally flowing tone, Muriel Oberhofer most recently appeared in a number of concerts across Europe, performing in prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall in London, the Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid, and Tonhalle Zürich in Switzerland. She regularly attends masterclasses, most recently with Hilary Hahn and at the Kronberg Academy with Vadim Gluzman.

Muriel has acted as concertmaster of various ensembles under conductors such as Semyon Bychkov, Ryan Wigglesworth, and Mei-Ann Chen. As a chamber musician, Muriel performs regularly in chamber music recitals and festivals, performing alongside artists such as William Wolfram, Kit Armstrong, and Margarita Balanas.

At the invitation of Pinchas Zukerman, Muriel completed her Professional Performance Diploma at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. She graduated with masters and undergraduate degrees from the Royal Academy of Music with distinction, studying under Nicholas Miller, Roman Simovic and György Pauk.

About Maxi Khevenhüller

Born in Klagenfurt, Maxi Khevenhüller spent his childhood in Austria and Spain. At the age of five, he received his first exposure to music and began taking regular piano lessons at eight. In addition to winning several prizes in national and international competitions, he has performed on Spanish television and at prestigious venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Hofburg in Vienna, the Konzerthaus in Klagenfurt, the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, and Wigmore Hall in London.

He completed an undergraduate degree in musical composition in Vienna, which included a year of exchange in Helsinki, followed by a postgraduate degree in Collaborative Piano in London. He has worked as an orchestral and choral assistant conductor under José María Álvarez and served as the artistic subdirector at MUSIC’us. He is currently mentored by Sophie Rachlin in conducting and works as a freelance choral and orchestral conductor. Additionally, he continues to perform internationally as a chamber pianist and accompanist.
