Where does this music come from?

Nicole Haslett
Hailed by the New York Times for her “technically accomplished coloratura” as well as, “floating lyricism,” soprano Nicole Haslett recently joined On Site Opera creating the roles of Frog/Mechanincal Nightingale in Lisa Despain’s Song of the Nightingale, as well as made her role debut in an abridged version of The Golden Cockerel, singing Tsaritsa of Shemakha. She was also be a soloist in “Yiddish and Hebrew songs of the Weimar Republic”, in conjunction with Carnegie Hall and the Leopoldo Baeck Institute. Last season she returned to the role of Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos with Arizona Opera, and reprised the role of Kristina in Oceane with Deutsche Oper Berlin. She made her Opera Hong Kong debut as Gilda in Rigoletto, and is engaged to return there for her role debut as Ophélie in Thomas’ Hamlet. She also recently made her role debut as Ännchen in Der Freischütz with Heartbeat Opera, and returned to the
Deutsche Oper Berlin as Berthe in Le Prophete and Adele in Die Fledermaus. She also made her Toronto Symphony debut in performances of Carmina Burana, and returned to the Metropolitan Opera for their production of Nico Muhly’s Marnie.

Doohyun Yoon
Tenor Doohyun Yoon recently appeared as a featured soloist in the "Music for a Spring Evening" gala with Waldman Opera Studio. In recent seasons, he engaged with the Regina Opera Association, bringing to life the roles of Gastone in La Traviata, Beppe in I Pagliacci, and Normano in Lucia di Lammermoor. His expanding operatic repertoire also includes Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor with the Hudson Opera Association, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi at Montclair State University's Alexander Kasser Theater, and Lyonel in Martha at the Manhattan School of Music. Noting his vocal capabilities, Voce di Meche praised his performance of "Non piangere, Liù" from Puccini's Turandot, highlighting how his "full tenor was employed with subtle dynamics" to deliver a "fine performance."

Equally accomplished on the concert stage and in intimate chamber settings, Yoon recently performed for the Belle Sylvester Recital Series at the Freeport Memorial Library alongside pianist Mara Waldman. He also previously presented a curated program, "Bel Canto Reverie: A Journey Through Italian Art Songs," for Groupmuse. Demonstrating his broader musical leadership, he served as Artistic Director and Conductor for a 120-member ensemble Christmas Cantata at KAPCQ. He has honed his craft through programs with Classic Lyric Arts and The Gerda Lissner Foundation, and participated in a masterclass with renowned Metropolitan Opera tenor Michael Fabiano.
