Experience a bold, all-American musical journey with the
Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in a program of firsts that brims with energy, ambition, and heart. Under the inspiring direction of
Benjamin Zander, these exceptional young musicians take on iconic works that span jazz-infused brilliance, cinematic sweep, and symphonic grandeur. The evening opens with John Harbison’s Remembering Gatsby—a sparkling, jazz-tinged tribute—followed by the unmistakable rhythms and blue-hued lyricism of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, featuring pianist Makoto Ozone in a performance that promises both flair and finesse.
The program culminates in Aaron Copland’s Symphony No. 3, a towering work filled with expansive melodies and unmistakable American spirit—performed here by BPYO for the very first time. With Groupmuse Nights Out discounted tickets, this is a chance to witness the next generation of great musicians take on monumental repertoire with passion, precision, and a sense of discovery that makes every moment feel fresh and alive. 🎶
