Step into a powerful and deeply human musical reflection with A Far Cry’s season finale, The Strangers’ Case, on Saturday, May 9 at 7:30 PM at Jordan Hall. Curated by violinist Jesse Irons and featuring GRAMMY® Award-winning tenor Karim Sulayman, this evocative program explores themes of migration, identity, and belonging—tracing the emotional landscapes of those who cross borders in search of home. Through a blend of new and timeless works, the evening invites listeners into stories that feel both intimate and universal.

From the yearning hope of Mary Kouyoumdjian’s Tagh [Diary] of an Immigrant to the timeless expressiveness of Handel’s tenor arias, and the gentle solace of Dvořák’s Nocturne, each piece offers a different lens on longing and connection. At the heart of the program is Karim Al-Zand’s The Strangers’ Case, a gripping song cycle that draws on poetry and personal accounts to illuminate the immigrant experience with urgency and compassion. With Groupmuse Nights Out discounted tickets, this is a rare opportunity to experience a concert that resonates far beyond the stage—where music becomes a vessel for empathy, storytelling, and shared humanity. 🎶
