What's the music?
This concert will take the listener on a sonic journey through the Evolution of Piano Trio. Spanning from ragtime, bebop, Latin Jazz, and Modern Piano trio, the listener will walk away from this concert with a greater understanding of the historical weight and importance of piano trio while also having enjoyed and electrifying concert of Jazz standards and improvisations.
Where does this music come from?
The many shades of Jazz Piano Trio is inspired by the many Jazz Piano legends throughout History. Ranging from Bebop legends like Art Tatum, Duke Ellington, Wynton Kelly, Oscar Peterson, Red Garland as well as the modern Jazz innovators like Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Chucho Valdez, Mulger Miller, and Kenny Kirkland. The Many Shades of Piano Trio plays the music of these masters as well as some original compositions inspired by the Jazz Piano Greats.
