Founded in 2024 through a shared passion for chamber music, Ethea Trio brings together the expressive artistry of violinist Shintaro Taneda, cellist Ayoun Alexandra Kim, and pianist Jon Lee. Named after the Greek root ethos, the trio embraces music as a reflection of character, spirit, and community. In 2025, they received the Gold Prize at the Amadeus International Music Awards in Salzburg, and in 2024, they were named an Honors Ensemble at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. They have performed in a public master class for pianist Paul Lewis and recently collaborated in concert with renowned violist Kim Kashkashian, further highlighting their depth and versatility. Based in San Francisco, the trio is eager to share their work throughout the greater Bay Area and across the West Coast.
