Let’s give Michaela a warm welcome as she is in NYC from the Czech Republic for a concert at Carnegie Hall on October 23rd and is generously sharing her awe-inspiring music with us the following Saturday!
“Nightfall Wanders”, in twilight, boundaries blur: between day and night, sound and silence, memory and new beginnings. This
program takes the listener through Romantic lyricism, intimate contemporary reflections, and stories of wonder. The first part features works for bassoon and piano, exploring lyricism and subtle narratives. The evening culminates in the U.S. premiere of Nightfall Wanders by Czech composer Nikol Bóková, for bassoon and string quartet, capturing the moods of the night and inviting curiosity and quiet awe. Bóková’s music balances modernity with emotional
clarity, as the bassoon embarks on a nocturnal journey where familiar sounds transform and the unknown becomes intimate.
