This program is all music from the late romantic period in Spain, and showcases the popular trend of borrowing from the folk music of Spain, to influence its classical tradition. Many of the melodies and harmonies within this music reflect the influence of the Gitano people, the Sephardic Jews, and the Arabic cultures that lend their influence to the broader genre that is Spanish music.
