Get ready for a night of audacious virtuosity and emotional depth with Camerata Pacifica on October 30 at 8 PM at Colburn School, Los Angeles!
Celebrate the launch of the “Beethoven 32” cycle as Principal Pianist Gilles Vonsattel takes the stage, joined by an ensemble of stellar wind and horn players, in a program that promises to stretch the heart and stir the soul.
Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in B-flat Major, Op. 106, “Hammerklavier” is a work of towering ambition—fiery, complex, and formidable in scope. It’s among Beethoven’s most demanding solo piano works, both technically and emotionally, and it requires a performer of rare insight and mastery. Then comes Mozart’s Serenade in E-flat Major for Wind Octet, K. 375—a piece that glows with ceremonial nobility, playful charm, and richly colored winds (oboes, clarinets, bassoons, and horn) dancing together in eloquent conversation. Finally, the evening winds down—yet paradoxically soars—with Chopin’s Nocturne No. 11 in G Minor, Op. 37, No. 1, whose tender lyricism and reflective shadows reveal Chopin’s belief in solace through music and faith.
✨ Thanks to Groupmuse’s Nights Out program, discounted tickets are available—making this extraordinary evening of Beethoven power, Mozart charm, and Chopin elegance more accessible than ever. Don’t miss your chance to witness these masterpieces performed live by top artists, in one of the season’s most anticipated concerts!
