In 1915, the State of Utah executed the greatest bard of the Progressive Era for a crime he didn’t commit. 20,000 people came to Joe Hill’s funeral — he was THE song maker for the exploding labor movement. But alas, his story has been lost down the memory hole. On August 6th, we’re bringing him back.

Groupmuse Founder Heavy Meadow is taking the Joe Hill story on the road and making a documentary about the journey, and he’s so blessed to say that Venice is a stop along the way.

Without Joe Hill, there’s no Woody Guthrie. Without Woody Guthrie, there’s no Bob Dylan. And without Bob Dylan, there sure as heck isn’t any Heavy Meadow.

Come on by for a night of song, story, and solidarity.

And check out www.onebigsong.com to learn more about the documentary.
