Retreat is very excited to once again host a Groupmuse on August 2nd from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. This event is in conjunction with the celebration of our latest art show, SERPANTINE by Sausalito based artist Christa Grenawalt , the Lower Haight Art Walk and Retreat's 8th anniversary.
If you haven't been to a Groupmuse, it is a mini concert, think old school parlor parties. You will need to RSVP to attend for $5, and there is a minimum suggested payment for the musicians of $20 on the night of in cash or you can donate via the app. All the $$ collected goes 100% to the musicians.
Please come by to mingle, have a glass of wine, eat some snacks, and hear gorgeous music, while supporting local artists and musicians!
MUSIC WILL START @ 6:00 PM.
What's the music?
5 Fachadas (Javier Farías)
Sonata for Cello and Guitar (Radames Gnatalli)
-intermission-
Terzetto Concertante (Nicolo Paganini)
We will present a program of chamber music featuring the Viola, Cello, and Guitar. The 5 Fachadas are vigorous miniatures by the contemporary Chilean-American composer Javier Farías which fuse Latin American folkloric elements with the chamber music lexicon. Radames Gnatalli’s Sonata for Guitar and Cello is a classic 20th century Brazilian masterpiece. The trio will come together in the second half to perform a rarely heard trio by Paganini.
