Host

Our wonderful friends at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center have a magnificent evening of large-scale chamber works coming up on Sunday, March 2nd -- and as our good fortune would have it, they're inviting along our beloved community for another Night Out at Lincoln Center and we want you to come!

The program starts off with a CMS commission from some forty years back -- the arresting Double Quartet (two string quartets) by Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, the first female composer to ever win a Pulitzer Prize. You'll see why with the powerful and astonishing work. Then we've got another Double Quartet, this one by the early romantic Louis Spohr, who was once considered to be a talent on par with his contemporary Beethoven. Again, with this genuinely thrilling work, you'll see why.

Then it's onto the absolutely epic Octet by that German arch Romantic, Max Bruch. So lush, so exciting, so meltingly beautiful -- it'll take your breath away. We finish this blockbuster evening with Finnish living legend Olli Mustonen and his Nonet no. 2 -- among his most celebrated chamber works.

So much music, so much fire, so much genius -- and tickets typically average $60, but we've got an early bird stack for only $25, more than half off! By next Wednesday, our prices rise to $30, which is still an awesome discount, but if you want the best deal possible for some hair-raisingly great music, make your move forthwith!

And have the best Night Out.
