On the program, "Beatrice Rana performs Felix Mendelssohn’s youthful, exuberant Piano Concerto No. 1. The program opens with Weber’s Ruler of the Spirits Overture, which begins with driving rhythms that give way to more lyrical passages. Robert Schumann’s Rhenish Symphony vibrantly depicts the Rhineland’s landscapes, dances, and grand Cathedral at Cologne. Marek Janowski leads the Orchestra in his NY Phil debut."
