Host

Jay J. (they/them)

Hello all,

Greetings from Sound Off! We are looking forward to returning to the concert stage after a long time away with renewed fervor. In the midst of a different city and state administration with radically different approaches to the idea of public safety, we continue to stay committed to presenting great music and speakers who have experienced our current justice system and offer solutions grounded in true safety and dignity.

Our musicians (pianist Kyle P. Walker, violinists Beatrice Hsieh and Jay Julio, violist Kayla Williams, and cellist Mosa Tsay) will be presenting Florence Price's masterwork Piano Quintet in A Minor, paired with a community play-in of "our streets", by composer-multi-instrumentalist Yaz Lancaster, whose "stunner of a quartet" (Washington Post) in Neutral Objects was premiered in long form by Sound Off last year.

We look forward to welcoming you back into community!

What's the music?

Sound Off: Music for Bail Piano quintet & strings (play-in!)
