Come hear music by two of Baroque Germany's greatest composers - Sylvius Leopold Weiss and J.S. Bach. Weiss was the great champion of the lute during his day, and while Bach never played, he was a great admirer of the instrument. This program features two suites for baroque lute; one by Weiss, originally written for the instrument, and one by Bach that is a transcription of his second cello suite.
What's the music?
Suite for Cello in D Minor, BWV 1008 - J.S. Bach
Sonata No. 49 in B Flat Major - S.L. Weiss
