About

Jake here from Subak the band! We're a three piece (occasionally two piece) jazz-fusion + rock band that have been performing throughout the city since early 2025. I'm accompanied by Lukas on bass, as well as a rotating ensemble of excellent percussion players.

Outside of GroupMuse, we love to rock out at bar gigs and at our monthly Japanese Jazz Fusion jam at NuBlu - but we also love putting on more intimate, personal performances, and that's where we'd love to demonstrate the softer side of our craft for you :)

Music

We draw from a wide breadth of inspirations - Japanese Jazz fusion artists such as Casiopea and Masayoshi Takanaka hold a special place in our collective heart, but we also like to take from Yacht-Rock bands such as Steely Dan, 90s RnB artists like Sade and D'angelo, and contemporary rock acts such as Her's and Mac Demarco.

We hope our love of all different kinds of music shines through during our next GroupMuse performance.
