Meagan Martin @meaganmartin
mezzo-soprano
About
Recognized for her “fine coloratura technique” (Opera) and “keen sense of drama” (Triangle Guitar Society News), mezzo-soprano Meagan Martin was recently heard as the alto soloist in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in a memorial concert for LA Opera Concertmaster Roberto Cani and in one of the title roles in Carla Lucero's Las tres mujeres de Jerusalén in LA Opera’s Community Opera, both conducted by James Conlon. Other highlights include Rosina in The Barber of Seville at The Ford with Pacific Opera Project; a European recital tour with Grammy-nominated guitarist Mak Grgić; and Lieder concerts for The Da Camera Society. She has premiered three song cycles written for her—two by composer Aferdian and librettist Marella Martin Koch on Jane Austen heroines and one by composer Giovanni Piacentini setting poems of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Meagan holds master’s and doctoral degrees in music and a B.A. in German, summa cum laude, from UCLA. www.meagan-martin.com
