I have a jazz quartet that plays my original music and arrangements/covers of artists I admire/grew up listening to like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, Wayne Shorter, etc.

Music

I grew up playing music in the historic Los Angeles neighborhood, Leimert Park. I attended the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center (FPCAC), which gave me the opportunity to play all kinds of music. I also took private lessons under the esteemed multi-instrumentalist Scott Mayo, which shaped my sound on the saxophone and approach to music.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music. There, I studied under esteemed professors such as Tia Fuller and Gregory Groover. While in college, I played shows in Boston, New York City, and the greater New England region.

My music encapsulates my experiences playing music in Leimert Park, my time at Berklee, and the ups and downs of life pursuing a career in the arts. Trombonist, Ryan Porter, states, "Chris's new EP makes me very excited about the future of music." Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, Scott Mayo, states, "He is among the most original voices in his generation."
