About

We are a new string quartet in Baltimore and current recipients of the Mount Vernon Virtuosi string quartet fellowship. Our mission is to make great music accessible to anyone, especially those in the under-served communities of Baltimore. To this end, a significant part of our performing happens in places like hospitals, homeless shelters, schools, and libraries--and all for free. But we are quite at home in formal halls and house concerts (some of our favorite venues!). We also teach strings classes in elementary schools through Every Child Deserves a Voice, paying forward the support we were given in our foundational early years of studying music.

A somewhat unusual aspect of our fellowship is that we all live together too! While not without challenges, we have a lot of fun together and wouldn't have it any other way. We can't wait to bring that energy and connection into your living room.

Music

We love classical music that spans both tradition and innovation. Quartets from the greats like Beethoven to Mendelssohn to Shostakovich have a near magic quality that never grows old. But we've also had a blast performing string quartets that are hot-off-the-press, from composers like Jesse Montgomery and Dinuk Wijeratne. Though they occupy less of our focus, pop covers or movie songs can be a fun hit with many crowds. With our diverse performance settings, we often tailor our program to suit the audience and occasion.
