About

The Arensky Piano Trio began playing together in December 2022. They debuted their first performance as a piano trio with Anton Arensky's Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor. Eugene Kim (violin) serves as concertmaster of the DC Concert Orchestra. Philip Hopko (cello) currently performs with DC Concert Orchestra, Washington Sinfonietta, COSMIC Symphony, and several chamber music groups. May Lim (piano) is a member of the DC Concert Orchestra Society and is a local piano teacher and accompanist. The trio regularly performs at local events and venues in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area.

Music

We mainly play pieces from various classical eras, including repertoire from the Romantic and 20th Century eras. We have performed Anton Arensky's Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Astor Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, pieces by Robert Schumann and Samuel Coleridge Taylor as part of a larger quartet and quintet, and other assorted repertoire. We have also performed holiday pops concerts and play other contemporary music for weddings and other events.
