 \nHere’s how Zander describes the evening: \n\n"Opening this concert is 
 Bernstein's Overture to Candide\, which the BPYO will be playing for the f
 irst time. It was last played by the senior Boston Philharmonic Orchestra 
 in 2001 at the Jazzical Gala.\n\nViolinist\, composer and conductor Guy Br
 aunstein returns along with cellist Zvi Plesser to join the BPYO for Brahm
 s' great Double Concerto. This formidable concerto\, the composer's last\,
  finds Brahms in a mood that is deeply expressive\, but also austere. It i
 s a piece that demands the greatest maturity from its performers\, which i
 s exactly what it is going to receive from these two amazing musicians. \n
 \nWe finish with the great Fifth Symphony of Prokofiev: a wily yet oddly p
 rofound work in which the composer fully embraces Soviet dictates about th
 e nature and purpose of art while still almost miraculously maintaining th
