 n\nGabriel Wheaton\, violinist extraordinaire\,  will play Irish (it is St
 . Patrick's day!)\, bossa nova\, Grappelli-style hot club jazz\, 60's acou
 stic to Appalachian. He will be joined by Sophie Ruehr with her smooth voi
 ce and nylon guitar. Further accompaniment will come from a lush\, cinemat
 ic swell of strings from Gabriel's looped violin. In other words\, he fuse
 s together traditional folk genres from across the world.\n\nWhat does loo
 ped mean?  \nLooped in music refers to the recorded repetition of a musica
 l phrase or section\, creating a continuous musical texture. The idea behi
 nd looping is to build up multiple layers of sound\, allowing the musician
  to create complex arrangements in real-time.\n\nUsing this technique\, Ga
 briel creates a rich orchestral sound palette ranging from fiery and engag
 ing to mellow and relaxing. Gabriel was classically trained\, studying com
 position at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and graduating from UC
 LA Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Music Composition. \n\nSophie is a Ph.D. c
 andidate at University of California Berkeley Department of Environmental 
 Science\, Policy and Management who also just happens to write songs for j
 azz guitar and regularly performs in the Bay Area.  Our good fortune!\n\nE
 njoy their debut album "Sleeping Through Paradise" available on most music
  platforms.
