DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Groupmuse\nMusicians: Katherine Kyu Hyeon Lim and Joe
y Chang\n\nJoin us on October 22nd in celebration of Groupmuse’s very ow
 n favorite Asian-American artists and Asian-American businesses/organizati
 ons!\n-\n\nGroupmuse presents **[Impromptuo](https://www.impromptuo.com/)*
 *\, partnering with **[MÔTÔ Spirits](https://motospirits.com/home/)**\,
for a heartfelt evening of film\, friends\, and food!\n\nBased in New York
City\, **Impromptuo** is an innovative improvisation-focused duo made up
of violinist **[Katherine Kyu Hyeon Lim](https://www.katherineviolin.com/)
** and pianist **[Joey Chang](http://www.joeychangpianist.com/)**. The duo
has been commissioned and presented by Banff Centre for Arts and Creativi
ty\, Fifth Wall Performing Arts\, House of Yes\, (Le) Poisson Rouge\, Metr
opolis Ensemble\, and National Arts Diversity Integration Association. Tho
ugh primarily trained in European classical music\, Impromptuo draws influ
ence from traditions of free jazz\, experimental electroacoustic music\, e
 tc.\, and suggestions from you\, the audience!\n\nFor this Massivemuse\, I
mpromptuo will be performing **"Darkroom Processing: 吃飯了嗎?/밥 먹
었니?"**\, a 30-minute original film that is live scored by the duo.\n\n
You'll see scenes of New York City\, but more importantly\, you'll see the
duo's beloved friends depicted on the projector\, centering the people wh
o they care about the most\, simply being themselves and enjoying life.\n\
nThe phrases in Han characters and Korean (which translate to “have you
eaten yet?” in English) are customary greetings that signify care for an
other person. The phrase references our own respective heritages of Taiwan
and South Korea\, and it references all of the delicious food and camarad
erie shown in the film.\n\n**Note:** Alcoholic drinks will be sold by MÔT
Ô Spirits at the entrance. No outside drinks permitted (this is not a BYO
B event). Please enjoy this distillery's offerings to support this amazing
  local business!
